Chris Chester, author of the luminous memoir Providence of a Sparrow, passed away in March 2007. Though our grief for his loss if profound, we are grateful for the story he left behind: a book about wonder, about what other species have to teach us about intelligence, dignity, trust and joy; about honoring a life-altering relationship--even if that relationship is with a bird no bigger than the palm of your hand.
